25 Black History Month Door Decorations For Africans To Identify With The Celebration

For many Africans, Black History Month is an alien event despite its commencement in 1926. This was after a renowned historian Carter G. Woodson suggested that a given time be set apart to celebrate the immense contribution of the Blacks in shaping the history of the United States.

Why February? Well, it so happened that Frederick Douglas the abolitionist movement leader and Abraham Lincoln who influenced the emancipation of slaves during his reign were born in February. These two great men played a major role in the lives of Blacks in the USA who were predominantly slaves at the time.

There was therefore no better way to honor them than to hold Black history month celebrations in February. To that effect, in 1976, President Gerald Ford officially declared February as the Black history month in the USA.

Given that it is February once again, the month dedicated to Black history celebration, we offer you a list of some Black history month door decoration items.
