Emudro, also known as Hausa Beer, is a refreshing and spicy ginger drink beloved in Ghana. Packed with the warmth of ginger, cloves, and grains of selim, this traditional drink is perfect for soothing colds or simply enjoying as a revitalizing beverage. Serve it chilled with ice, and enjoy a taste of authentic Ghanaian goodness!

Instructions
Prepare the Spices:
In a small bowl, combine the grains of selim, cloves, and dried peppers.
10 grams cloves, 8 dried peppers, 15 grams grains of selim
Pour 500 ml of boiling water over the spices. Stir and let them steep for about 10 minutes.
Blend the Ginger:
While the spices are steeping, slice the ginger into small pieces (no need to peel if washed thoroughly).Add the ginger to a blender along with the steeped spices and their water.
230 grams fresh ginger
Blend and Strain:
Add an additional 500 ml of water to the blender. Blend the mixture until smooth.Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl to extract the ginger juice.Place the strained pulp back into the blender, add another 1 liter of water, blend again, and strain. Repeat if desired for maximum juice extraction.
1.5 liters water
Flavor the Drink:
Add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice to the strained ginger drink. Stir well.Sweeten with 1½ cups of sugar, honey, or to taste. Stir until fully dissolved.

Serve:
Serve the ginger drink chilled over ice for a refreshing experience.Optional: Strain the drink one last time for a smoother consistency.
