20-year old Zimbabwean goalkeeper Martin Mapisa has been recently bought by Velez CF. The Zimbabwean Rising star has been in a 2 year contract with CD Almunecar.

The young footballer was first signed to CD Almunecar and afterwards just recently signed to the current Velez CF side. The club plays in the Tercera División of the Spanish League, a league that is well renowned in the International football community.

“Vélez Club de Fútbol which was founded in 1922 is a home to the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia and it holds its home matches at Estadio Vivar Téllez, with an estimated capacity of  three thousand people,” according to the official club’s site.

Nigel Munyati, confirmed this latest development in a press statement recently.

In his statement, he actually expressed his happiness on the development of the footballer and further stated that it is a step towards the right direction. He wished him good luck in his new club and stated that the footballer has a lot of potentials for greatness and would do tremendously well in his football career.

Munyati further stated that another top Zimbabwean player whose name has been disclosed as Abubakar is still with his current club and he stated that it is a good club for his development as the young lad is still at the developmental stages of his football career and probably has a long way to go.

He went ahead to state that the Panashe Kuzumba, another young Zimbabwean player has been invited back by Malaga F.C.

The 17 year old footballer was however recommended to Malaga by UK-based Zimbabwean coach Phillip Zulu. The player is currently based in Australia according to him. Coach Zulu is a prominent figure when it comes to Zimbabwean football League and most young and prominent players who have made it out of the country have all gone through Coach Zulu.

The Coach said that the young footballer was signed by Marbella City FC academy in Australia and they gave him residential preference because of the way he had actually performed in the past at Marbella City F.C. However, he went further to state that he has been invited by Malaga F.C last month. They are prepared to sign him in the next transfer window.

Zulu further stated that another uprising Zimbabwean goalkeeper, Washington Bgoni who just turned 19 years old has been invited to Germany for trials.

Zulu told newsmen in a recent interview that these young footballers are quite talented overseas- based players in the country and that the National Football Community in Zimbabwe has selected them to be part of the National U – 23 team. The U – 23 team will take part in the U – 23 African Cup of Nations as well as the Olympic Games qualifier which will soon start up.

He summarized by telling newsmen that the country has a lot of talented players that needs support and motivation in order to carve a niche for themselves in the international community.
