Beyoncé Partners With UNICEF to Bring Safe Water to Children in Remote Areas in Burundi

Beauty, awe, kindness. Those are ready virtues Beyonce boasts of in her closet. And now to remind us how rich she is at heart, Beyonce is joining forces with the UNICEF via means of her philanthropic venture BeyGOOD to bring clean safe water to children in Burundi. This hit move featuring Beyonce and the UNICEF have tagged   BEYGOOD4BURUNDI.

This strategic partnership between the UNICEF and Beyonce will be saddled with the responsibility of providing safe water, sanitation and basic hygiene practices to the most vulnerable children in Burundi.

Water crisis has been an ongoing debacle in the landlocked African nation. People in such places find easy solace in unclean water hence they are vulnerable, inviting water-born ailments upon themselves. Such diseases have criminally accounted for most of the death of children 5 years and below. Kids may have to trek miles on the lookout for good water. The penalty some children pay for this is missing school. The small girls who embark on those water-hunting adventures are still susceptible to sexual harassment.

Beyoncé speaking on this said, “Access to water is a fundamental right. When her you give children clean and safe water, you don’t just give them life, you give them health, an education, and a brighter future. I am committed to helping drive lasting solutions to the water crisis in Burundi.”

Complementing Beyonce, Caryl M. Stern, President and CEO of UNICEF USA, said, “Addressing the global water crisis is one of the defining challenges of our time, and the children of Burundi are among the most vulnerable. This unique partnership combines UNICEF’s decades of expertise in providing clean water to children in Burundi and around the world with the power and influence of the entertainment world to bring about social change. We are grateful to Beyoncé and BeyGOOD for joining forces with UNICEF, to highlight this critical issue to new audiences.”

The first part of this BEYGOOD4BURUNDI would feature the building of fresh wells adequately sophisticated with hand pumps, provision of improved sanitation infrastructure in schools in four priority regions, including Kinyinya and Nyabitsinda in Ruyigui Province and Bukemba and Giharo in Rutana Province. In these regions over 65% of children face the insecurity of bad water.

Beyonce has certainly being “all night” in her act of kindness, never tired! Taking a clue from Queen Bey, the world would be a better place if we can mop the tear of the eyes of our neighbor even if our eyes are drenching with tears!
