Nigerian-born Solanke claims Golden Ball as England win U-20 World Cup

The world of soccer has been congested with the genius and awe of the wizard duo Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. However the sun is setting on them as they are already going old. Making the world begin to look for upcoming talents who would step up into their magnanimous shoes when they are gone. One of such platforms for the young to prop up their expertise into global limelight is the Under-20 World Cup.

Emerging from this year edition which held in South Korea is Dominic Solanke. Solanke admirably scored four goals to pip the golden boot award. Proudly, Dominic Solanke has strong African heritage being Nigerian born.

 

Representing England, Dominic Solanke helped the English side to a historic title win beating Venezuela in the final. This would mark the first time that England has won an international trophy since senior side lifted the World Cup some 51 years ago on home soil.

The Young Lions secured the title needing a goal Calvert Keplein and a super penalty save from Freddie Woodman against Venezuela to nail the title.

 

Our lovely Dominic Solanke made very decisive contributions to the success among which was his spectacular and crucial goal in a very tense quarter final.

Winning the golden boots, enthrones Dominic Solanke alongside his under-20 World Cup ancestors Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Sergio Aguero who had all won the golden boot earlier on in their careers. Solanke the Nigerian born Chelsea player is just 19 years.
