Why? Because to ‘cheat’ is to ‘lie’/‘deceive’/‘mislead’/‘betray’. If you think you have earned the right to step out on your partner, why not discuss this with them, inform them you plan to step out on them and who you will be doing it with – if you do this your partner may be broken-hearted but you did not lie or mislead.
