Prominent leaders in Jamaica publicized a letter demanding that Britain apologize and award its former colony slavery reparations. Is reparations the right recourse for the effects of colonization on Jamaica? Will reparations have the positive effect that some Jamaicans seek? What do you think?

Whether reparations are giving or not, will it change anything? The harm has already been done. Will the scars be erased? Will the reparations change anything that happened? No. Let’s move on Africa

Yes they are right to demand for reparations from Britain for forcefully taking the citizens into slavery. The Jamaicans who were captured as slaves were badly battered,tortured and ill- treated. Though it will not change anything and the reparations doesn’t also serve as a “payment” for the Jamaican taken into slavery.
