‘REFLET DE LUMIÈRE’: OPTICAL ILLUSION – Vlisco’s Third fabric collection for 2010

August 1, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Vlisco takes colour to a higher level, bringing it to life with the new ‘Reflet de Lumière’ fabric collection. The collection elucidates the disparity between silhouettes and movement with a colourful blurring effect. The designs create a surreal sense of structural forms, an illusion of architectural dimensions. This sensation is enhanced by the visual effect of morphing created by the interaction between shadows and the aura of coloured lights, merging to produce a graphical collection of unique fabrics.

‘SPARKLING GRACE’: SHINE LIKE A STAR – Vlisco’s Second fabric collection for 2010

May 3, 2010 by · 7 Comments

All your senses will celebrate the colourful new fabric collection ‘Sparkling Grace’ by Vlisco. Go up the stairs and feel the sensation of melodious pulsations leading to a spectacle of bright colours. The designs coordinate the rhythm of movement. Clear graphic lines give a feeling of the beat while numerous floral designs make up the melody, blossoming into a range of vibrant fabrics. ‘Sparkling Grace’ pays homage to elegance and femininity, magnifying both your inner and outer beauty. So take the stage and shine like a star.

Her Designs have been worn by Celebrities such as Teri Hatcher, Lisa Raye, Jessica Sutta and others.

What we can expect at the “I Wear African” Runway Show

“I will be showing my Fall-Winter collection. This collection was drawn from my appreciation of nature and of artisanship from my native country of Cote d’Ivoire.  The use of double face satin organza, silk chiffon and crepe fabrics all added to the romantic feel I intended to create. Inspired by elements such as roses, calla lilies and nature’s many wonders, I was able to create layers, textures and volume in an organic way on silhouettes that are flattering to the woman’s body.  I strived to achieve a reconnection between art and nature while keeping my love for color very present in my Fall-Winter collection.” – Christiane King
